Under Mouse Properties in Control Panel, (the location varies in different Windows versions,) you can see what the current cursor. Possibly caused when a program crashed or by a buggy program. the standard triangle and stem arrow or the hourglass). For now, the flux option did the trick for me. One possibility is that the cursor images have been changed for some/all cursor types (e.g. So you either have to bite into the sour apple and play in windowed mode, or hope that one of the other solutions above will help when you start it up in full-screen mode. In both Windows 7 and 10 I have this extremely annoying issue where the mouse exhibits a constant spinning circle (cursor) - as if the system is busy doing something.
* Checking game integrity on steam (I have done that after playing around with the mouse cursor settings) - it did reappear but only worked once for me, so probably a coincidence writes: ' Dear Dennis, I recently upgraded to Windows 10 prior to that I was running Windows 7.
